Welcome to Unfolding. By using our app or website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

What Unfolding Is

Unfolding is a personal reflection and goal-tracking app designed to help you identify what matters most and live intentionally. The app uses AI to help extract insights from your reflections, but ultimately, you are the author of your journey.

Your Account

  • You can use Unfolding anonymously or with an account
  • If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Unfolding
  • One person, one account — please don't create multiple accounts

Your Content

Everything you create in Unfolding — your reflections, goals, journals, and uploads — belongs to you.

  • You retain full ownership of your content
  • You grant us permission to store and process your content to provide the service
  • We will never sell your content or use it for advertising
  • You can export or delete your content at any time

Acceptable Use

Unfolding is a space for personal growth. Please don't:

  • Use the service for anything illegal
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Try to reverse-engineer or exploit the app
  • Upload malicious content or malware
  • Abuse the AI features (excessive requests, attempting to manipulate outputs)

AI Features

Unfolding uses AI to help with priority extraction and reflection prompts.

  • AI suggestions are tools for reflection, not professional advice
  • The AI may occasionally produce unexpected or imperfect results
  • You're free to ignore, edit, or delete any AI-generated content
  • AI features may have usage limits, especially for free accounts

Subscription & Payments

  • Unfolding offers both free and premium tiers
  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until the period ends
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple's policies
  • We may change pricing with reasonable notice

Important Disclaimers

Not therapy or medical advice. Unfolding is a reflection tool, not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional.

No guarantees. We provide the service “as is.” While we work hard to keep things running smoothly, we can't guarantee uninterrupted service or that the app will meet all your expectations.

Back up your data. While we take data security seriously, we recommend periodically exporting your content.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unfolding and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding any claim.

Termination

  • You can delete your account and data at any time
  • We may suspend accounts that violate these terms
  • If we discontinue the service, we'll give you reasonable notice to export your data

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
